‘Sing (If You Want It) ReTWISTED’ brings together seven stunning reworks of tracks from the classic soul album ‘Sing (If You Want It)’ by soul legend Omar, who recently featured as part of BBC 6Music’s 10^th Birthday celebrations. Re-twisted by Grammy Award-winning producer, DJ and musician Scratch Professer, who just so happens to be Omar’s brother, this project is a meeting of minds and souls, and a real gift for fans. 

Omar’s ‘Sing (If You Want It)’ album - featuring collaborators including Stevie Wonder, Estelle, Common and Angie Stone – was re-released by Tru Thoughts in 2011 with the addition of two new bonus tracks including the hit Zed Bias collaboration “Dancing” which made the BBC 1Xtra playlist. Scratch Professer co-produced three of the original tracks on the album.  In addition to winning a Grammy for his work on Julian Marley’s ‘A Time And Place’ album, lifelong musician, rapper, and DJ Scratch Professer’s CV reads like a who’s who of music over the last thirty years, including collaborations with the likes of Ms Dynamite, Ziggy Marley and All Saints and appearances on Jools Holland, TOTP and the Brit Awards; as well as twice being named runner up in the DMC World championships. Manipulating beats and samples is Scratch Professer’s speciality, and ‘Sing (If You Want It) ReTWISTED’ shows off the skills of two extraordinarily talented and iconic brothers.
