Description
Espen Horne (who you may know as the Bobby Hughes Experience) has worked with just about everybody in Norway s thriving jazz and beats scenes. The desire to work with a vocalist on his new project led to him hooking up with Canadian/Jamaican singer Caitlin Simpson. Together they produced the Forgetting To Remember album, which captures Espen s love of jazz, reggae, funk, hip hop and downtempo beats.
From the outset, Us On Fire was the big DJ tune from the album, so it seemed natural for Tru Thoughts to release it as a single in it s own right. A surefire dancefloor rocker, Us On Fire samples the reggae classic Bam Bam by Sister Nancy.
Tru Thoughts label mates Diesler and Nostalgia 77 also join in on the action, remixing their favorite tracks from the Kinny & Horne LP:
Burnley Wonderkid Diesler takes Queen Of Boredness in a stripped-down soulful hip hop direction, while Nostalgia 77 adds some Brit Jazz to the album’s title track Forgetting To Remember.
As an extra bonus for the DJs there are three album A capella tracks on the vinyl version too!
