Allsopp, Vosloo, Stanley, Giles present a second LP of recordings from the American songbook. The first record 'A Flower is a Lonesome Thing' quicklysold out and was enthusiastically received by the press and listeners alike. All four musicians are known for their more avant-garde work in bands suchas The Golden Age of Steam, Twelves and Nostalgia 77. It is now possible to see how brightly they shine in a more traditional setting.

The combo are strident and muscular on the up-tempo swing of 'One For Tony' and Coltraneʼs 'Syeeda's Song Flute'. On the ballads 'Moonlight On Vermont' and the Duke Ellington classicsʻChelsea Bridgeʼ and 'Istafan', Allsopp is by both triumphantly languid andvulnerable in equal measure. 'Once In A While' is a timely reminder of the lasting appeal of these great tunes, rendered with playful purpose by great players.
